The Minnesota march, 1927 Sept. 3 / John Philip Sousa.

An original manuscript piano score with signature inscription dedicating the composition to the faculty and students of the University of Minnesota. The march was written at the invitation of university students, alumni, and faculty members after Sousa and his band visited the Twin Cities in 1926. An autographed and inscribed portrait of Sousa (Dec. 1927) and a newspaper clipping covering his presentation of the manuscript to the Minnesota State Fair and the people of Minnesota on Sept. 3, 1927 are bound with the score in a leather presentation binding.
